Education

MFA in Playwriting from Brandeis University

PhD in English Rhetoric and Composition from University of Connecticut

Sarah Moon is a Visiting Assistant Professor. She teaches How Writing Works, Writing in Professional and Public Contexts, Multimodal Writing in Public Spheres, and Writing Climate at the Local Level. She specializes in community writing, first-year writing and writing for performance. Her scholarly work has been published in Pedagogy, Community Literacy Journal and Center for Sustainable Practices in the Arts Quarterly. Her essays have been published in Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics and the MLA Award-nominated The Art of Touch: A Collection of Prose and Poetry from the Pandemic and Beyond. Her most recent publication is "Eating to Heal: Using Design Thinking to Reconceptualize a Community-Engaged Project for Health Justice" in Designing for Social Justice: Community-Engaged Approaches in Technical and Professional Communication. She is the facilitator of the food-centered community writing and performance project Write Your Roots.
