91海角乱伦 Professor Makes Neuroscience Accessible with New TV Series
Associate Professor Victoria Heimer-McGinn is partnering with NBC10 to increase accessibility to brain health education.

BRISTOL, R.I. 鈥 A Roger Williams University professor is increasing accessibility to neuroscience education by taking her passion for brain waves to the airwaves.
is featuring Victoria Heimer-McGinn, an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department, in a series of monthly health segments called Brain Chats with Dr. V. The episodes cover topics ranging from memory to love, and helmet safety.
Heimer-McGinn, who specializes in molecular neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, and cognitive neuroscience, is also the president and co-founder of , an organization that advocates for increased accessibility and education in brain science and also offers an annual Brain Waves series of events.
Her partnership with NBC10 began last year when she was invited to to promote an event. She said the anchors had so much fun with the segment, that she offered to come back once a month to do a brain segment. The next thing she knew, she was sitting down with a producer and planning out a year's worth of material.
鈥淭hese segments provide Rhode Islanders with interesting, accurate information about their brains,鈥 said Heimer-McGinn. 鈥淧eople are curious about what makes us 鈥榰s鈥 and they enjoy learning about it through short, simple, relatable stories. In a time when there's so much misinformation about brain-related topics, it's vital that people get their facts directly from the experts.鈥
